Goat Yoga @ Royal Docks Brewing Co. $29 Members | $34 Non-Members | $22 Kiddos

This class is taught by:

Pattie Wagner (E-RYT 500/YACEP)

Pattie Wagner, E-RYT 500 and YACEP®, took yoga when she was four years old with her flower child mom. Yoga found her again when she had her second son and needed a release from a demanding career in a foreign city. Over 20 years, she has practiced a broad variety of yoga styles including Power, Bikram, Hatha, Ashtanga, Restorative, Yin, Iyengar and "crappy work yoga" and infused them all into her teaching style (minus the crappy parts, of course).

  • My teaching style is: Very hands on, fun, upbeat and spiritual. I love assisting my students, so be prepared for adjustments, neck rubs and guidance.
  • My favorite yoga pose is: Padahastasana! I love the release that Gorilla pose provides. It’s a simple forward fold that is accessible to all levels of yogis. It also calms the mind, helps with digestion and improves circulation in your hands and wrists. It’s great for people who work on computers all day long.

  • Yoga has helped me overcome: Wow, so much. I began practicing when my 2nd son was born to help with post-partum depression. From there, I fell in love! Anything is possible on a yoga mat.

  • My favorite music to teach to is: I have extremely wide tastes of music and love to mix up fresh playlists for my students. I also get help from my sons who help keep my music cutting edge ... I love offering a brand new sound or unknown artist to my students.

  • I love my: Eyes and hair. My eyes are hazel and can turn to a beautiful complex green/gold. My hair? I rarely blow it dry and (WHEN) I bother to style it, it looks AMAZING!

  • My favorite goddess is: Akhilandeshvari. She is the “The Always Broken Goddess”. Basically, she celebrates that we are always just a little broken, a little on the edge. This allows us to try something new and unfathomable in our lives and break away from our toxic routines or attachments. And she rides on a crocodile … How cool is that?! There is a great article about her on Elephant Journal by JC Peters. Check it out!

  • You must try this healthy snack: Well, I'm not sure how truly healthy Skinny Pop is but I can devour a whole bag on my own!

  • My favorite Sanskrit phrase is: "Om Namah Shivaya". Chanting this mantra is incredibly powerful … Be careful what you wish for!

  • My advice for beginning yogis: Focus on building the very basics of your practice. Your breath is everything and will guide you both physically and spiritually. Don’t worry about how flexible or strong you are … And don’t worry about the heat, Release has plenty of options!

  • I’m most grateful for: My wonderful family who supported me when I took on the major life change of starting my own yoga studio. I may be crazy, but I’m loved!

  • The most exotic place that I’ve practiced yoga is: Hmm, I've been fortunate to experience travel to many places. The Great Wall of China, India,  Costa Rica or Kripalu are some of my top places.

  • If I could practice yoga with anyone, it would be: Harry Styles!  I am obsessed.

  • I want to take my yoga to the next level by: Assisting all of the fabulous Release teachers and students in reaching their full potential.

  • My heroes are: Anita Roddick (founder of The Body Shop), Maxine Clark (founder of Build a Bear) and Oprah (founder of everything). They each built profitable businesses from the core of their passions, took immense risks, and focused on giving back to their employees and communities. And they did it with kindness, compassion, fun and profitability. That’s the way business should be!

  • My one wish for the world is: "Be Happy, Be Healthy, Be Whole."

Nikki Cvammen

Nikki graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Music Production. She loves to sing, compose music, teach yoga, do art and eat! The number one thing on her bucket list is to visit Norway and camp under the Northern Lights.

  • My favorite yoga pose is: Tripod.

  • Yoga has helped me overcome: Stress and self-consciousness

  • I love my heart because: It is my center and helps me make new relationships.

  • My favorite goddess is Athena because: She is the symbol for wisdom and strength, which I find very important in my life.

  • You must try this healthy snack: Celery juice, you put celery stalks in a blender and drink the juice. It’s a fun twist to eating a healthy snack and it's very refreshing.

  • My favorite Sanskrit word or phrase is Bhakti because: Its root word is “bhai” which means to love and worship God. I love this word because it reminds me that I can worship the Lord along with doing my practice.

  • My advice for beginning yogis is: Breathe, it's the most important part of everything we do.

  • I’m most grateful for: My family and opportunities I have been blessed with.

  • The most exotic place I’ve practiced yoga is: In the middle of a river on a huge rock! Frightening, but also exhilarating.

  • If I could practice yoga with anyone it would be: Michael Scott.

  • I’m ecstatic to take my yoga to the next level because: I cannot wait to succeed at positions that I cannot get currently and I just love doing yoga, it's a part of my life now.

  • My heroes are: God and my mom.

  • My super power is: Staying calm when others are freaking out, and offering a helping hand when needed.

  • My one wish for the world is: Appreciate the little things and the natural bliss of the Earth.

Stephanie Chapman (RYT 500/E-RYT 200)

Stephanie is a former art historian/archaeologist who found her true passion in the beauty and strength of yoga. As a long time fitness enthusiast and former swimmer and triathlete, she first began practicing yoga in 2007 as a way to stretch sore muscles and relieve the ongoing stress of graduate school. Immediately, she not only felt a much-welcomed openness in her body, but she also found peace in the union of the asanas (poses) and pranayama (breath). At the beginning of her yoga journey, Stephanie bounced between yoga studios and cultivated a strong home yoga practice that she maintains to this day, even amidst the craziness of her three young children! After many years as a student, she completed her 200-RYT in 2018 with a focus on Power Vinyasa Flow and Bikram yoga. Stephanie loves to learn and share her passion for yoga and movement with others!
  • My teaching style is: Dynamic, fluid, and logically creative. I have a passion for transitions, connecting poses and movements in fun, innovative ways--while carefully preparing the body for deeper poses and maintaining safe form and alignment.

  • My favorite yoga pose is: Fallen Star. I love how it challenges my strength, while opening the front side of my body. It feels fun and graceful!

  • Yoga has helped me overcome: The fear of failing and not being good enough. For many years, I came to my hot yoga practice with the mantra "I am strong," believing that if I made it through my practice, then I could also handle any challenge outside of the yoga room. Over the years, I’ve also learned that if a pose or class doesn’t turn out as I expected, it's ok. In life and in yoga, I must let it go and try again.

  • I love my shoulders because: I’ve worked hard to build their strength. I used to feel self-conscious about being broad-shouldered, but now I appreciate their power.

  • My favorite goddess is Maat because: She is the Ancient Egyptian personification of truth, justice, and cosmic balance. At death, the Egyptians believed that the deceased’s soul/heart would be weighed against Maat’s white feather of truth, thus determining his/her fate in the afterlife—very similar to the Christian belief in the Last Judgement and the weighing of souls.

  • You must try this healthy snack: Dark chocolate! :)

  • My favorite Sanskrit word is Namaste because: It reminds us to embrace kindness and respect for others, no matter how different they are from us.

  • My advice for beginning yogis is: To experiment and find a type of yoga that feels good to you (mentally and physically) and embrace your struggles as well as your successes. You should always be able to smile in any pose!

  • I’m most grateful for: My family, especially my husband and three children. They help me to stay grounded and remind me of what is truly important: love, wonder, and joy.

  • The most exotic place I’ve practiced yoga is: At an excavation site at Bamburgh Castle (located in a small village in northern England)—I used to work there as an archaeologist.

  • If I could practice yoga with anyone it would be: Stevi Gongora (@casa_colibri) because: I really admire her creative funky flows and yoga tutorials that she offers with her fellow yogi collaborates at Authentic Movements. Follow her and Authentic Movements on Instagram--they are amazing!

  • I’m excited to take my yoga to the next level because: I love learning more about how the body and mind works and what they are capable of, and there is so much to learn! I also enjoy challenging and growing my own practice.

  • My hero is: My mom because she is the most caring person I know. She is always thinking of, helping and giving to others.

  • My superpower is: My determination and ability to focus.

  • My one wish for the world is: For everyone to show more grace and kindness to each other.

  • My favorite Sanskrit word or phrase is Santosha because: It means contentment/happiness. In a world full of bigger and better, I think it's important to find contentment in what we already have. Taking the time to reflect and give thanks opens my eyes to see my life is full of love and blessings.

  • My advice for beginning yogis is: Do not compare yourself to anyone else. Everyone's journey is different, and we all evolve in our own time.

  • I’m most grateful for: My family, they help me grow daily, and show me unconditional love.

  • The most exotic place I’ve practiced yoga is: On the beach with just the sounds of the ocean to guide me.

  • If I could practice yoga with anyone it would be my 3 best friends because: They are all strong, unique, and fun to practice with. Each one brings something to their mats that inspires me.

  • I'm Thrilled to take my yoga to the next level because: I love watching Individual's grow on their yoga journey, mastering new postures and feeling excited about how strong they are inside and out.

  • My heroes are: My mother and grandmothers. All three have such a strong moral compass, and even though my grandmothers are gone I still feel them guiding me during the hard times. My mother is one of the strongest women I know, she’s faced many obstacles and held tight to her faith, overcoming anything in her path.
