Lyra - Beginners/Intermediate

Laura Laps

Laura has been teaching for 15 years and truly loves every second of those years! She started her YTT while completing a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. She LOVES a good qualification and has collected her NASM Pt, Combat Conditioning Specialist, TRX, BarreFly certifications along her travels. After sustaining a MMA career pausing injury, Laura fell head over heels in love with the Aerial Hoop aka Lyra & has been helping bring this dynamic practice to northeast Ohio for the past 5 years.
 
  • My teaching style: passion based. Find a workout that you can fall in love with & it will never feel like a chore.
 
  • My favorite pose: mermaid!
 
  • Yoga has helped me overcome: Yoga has helped me overcome: Everything! From college to both pregnancies, from love lost to winning in the ring, yoga has always been there to lean on & bring me back to center.
 
  • I love my WHOLE body because: It grew two unique offspring & helped me survive through a medical crisis. Forever grateful for my body!
 
  • My favorite deity or god/goddess is Mother Earth. 
 
  • You must try this healthy snack: Freeze dried pineapples!
 
  • My favorite Sanskrit word or phrase is Zakti because: it means female strength & power or lightning bolt! I think this is SO poetic & try to exude both.
 
  • My advice for beginning yogis is: Fall in love with the process.
  • I’m most grateful for: My family. They support me & keep my life interesting.
 
  • The most exotic place I’ve practiced yoga is: Next to a glacier on the top of a mountain.
 
  • If I could practice yoga with anyone it would be my mini & my not-so-little son because: playing & watching them practice warms my heart.
 
  • I’m honored to take my yoga to the next level because: everyone should learn a few asanas on a rotating metal hoop.
 
  • My heroes are: Anyone who tries to make positive changes in the world.
 
  • My one wish for the world is:
    to get back to a more native way of life where we respect the land & animals that we live with on this planet.

 

 

 

Ashley Warlop

 
 
Ashley has two children, Billy and Madison - ages 19 and 14. The love of her life, Bill, has been married to Ashley for 15 years. Her favorite type of yoga is Aerial Yoga and she enjoys spending time with her friends and family in her spare time!
 
  • My favorite yoga pose is: Downward Facing Dog.

  • Yoga has helped me overcome: My anxiety. I feel much calmer now that I regularly practice!
  • I love my arms because: They have become very strong and they hold me up! My favorite deity or god/goddess is Leto because: She is the Goddess of Motherhood and will do whatever it takes to protect her children.
  • You must try this healthy snack: Peanut butter and apples!
  • My favorite Sanskrit word or phrase is: गोद इस मय जुद्गे - God is my Judge.
  • My advice for beginning yogis is: Be confident in you!
  • I'm most grateful for: My family because they have taught me so much about life.

  • The most exotic place I've ever practiced yoga is: Under a waterfall in Hocking Hills!
  • My heroes are: Everyday I interact with a new type of hero, whether is be a small child to a grown adult who has shown passion, faith or courage for themselves or another person.
  • My one with for the world is: That people would be accepted for who they are.

Jill Saylor (RYT 500, E-RYT 200/YACEP/PT)

 
Jill is a self proclaimed tree hugging, bee keeping, ocean conserving, shark loving, garden tending, aerial yoga fanatic, clothesline drying hippie just trying to make the world a better place!
 
  • My teaching style is: Very fun and laid back. Nothing too serious in my classes.

 

  • My favorite yoga pose is: any hammock inversion

 

  • Yoga has helped me: grow as a person into a more active person and has allowed me to help others

 

  • I love my tattoos because: They tell stories from my life!

 

  • My favorite deity or god/goddess is Gaia because: without her we’d be nothing!

 

  • You must try this healthy snack: My personal local honey!!

 

  • My favorite Sanskrit word or phrase is Unnata because it means elevated and I love elevating myself off the floor with aerial.

 

  • My advice for beginning yogis is: We all start as beginners!

 

  • I’m most grateful for: Being able to have done all the things in my life that got me to this point!

 

  • The most exotic place I’ve practiced yoga is: Sand dunes in Mosselbaai, South Africa or a tiny little island in the middle of the Gulf off Nicaragua called Little Corn Island/

 

  • If I could practice yoga with anyone it would be: My sister because we always do things together!

 

  • I’m determined to take my yoga to the next level because: I like to set goals for myself.

 

  • My heroes are: My sister.

 

  • My super power is: Making a healthier, better version of anything you can find in the beauty, pharmacy or cleaning section at the store, and probably showing women that it is possible for us to be strong.
 
  • My one wish for the world is: That she thrives and survives with or without humans!
