Yoga Dave Ajamie


Dave Ajamie attended his first yoga class at IBH (where he currently works) in 2013. It was a perfect fit for him! He loves helping people on and off their mat, so much so, that he's affectionately been nicknamed "Yoga Dave."


 
  • My teaching style is: Peaceful and powerful. I love the inner peace and outer strength that your mat can bring you!
 
  • My favorite yoga pose is: Vrkasana (tree pose). With all its variations, it’s a perfect combination of peace and strength.
 
  • Yoga has helped me overcome: The chaos of life. Coming to my mat always brings me back in harmony with what is good in life.
 
  • My favorite music to practice to is: Traditional yoga music. Artists such as Krishna Das.
 
  • I love my head: Because it’s bald and shiny!
 
  • My favorite sanskrit word is: Namaste, because it acknowledges the beauty in all of us.
 
  • You must try this healthy snack: Kind bars, varieties of all kinds. They’re good for you, but more importantly, they’re delicious.
 
  • My advice for beginning yogis is: KNOW that every moment you are trying to get better, YOU are already getting better in anything you do!
 
  • I’m most grateful for: Love of all forms. Connecting with other people and sharing love is life’s purpose.
 
  • The most exotic place that I’ve practiced yoga is: On a standup paddleboard, it’s a great experience!
 
  • If I could practice yoga with anyone, it would be: Baron Baptiste. His books and practice are inspiring!
 
  • I’m inspired to take my yoga to the next level: Every time I get on my mat. There’s always something that inspires me from my mat.
 
  • My heroes are: Anyone who takes time and help people before anything else they had to do.
 
  • My one wish for the world is: That we would all just love one another and treat each other accordingly.

Tonya Harriman-Fowler


Tonya Harriman-Fowler has been a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and a esthetician for the past 16 years. She feels that taking care of the body as a whole is the best approach. Yoga feeds her body and mind and she opes to make it a bigger part of her life.
 
 
 
  • I Got Into Massage Because: I enjoyed receiving massages myself and was very aware of the therapeutic benefits. Massage is a great stress reducer as well as an all over better health influence. I wanted to share this experience with others while educating clients as to the benefits of massage. Touch is key. Every person should incorporate massage into their lives. It is a necessity, not a luxury.

 

  • Yoga and Massage Has: Helped me live in the now, reduce stress and discomfort, increase flexibility and be more aware how important my health is.

 

  • My Favorite Music is: THE 80’S!!!

 

  • I Love My: Hands because of the relief, pleasure, and comfort they can provide to others. I also love my 3 4-legged children; Boozoo, Bear, and Binky.

 

  • My Advice for a Beginning Yogi or Massage Client is:Just do it! Quit talking about trying it and just walk in or call to schedule. I drove past the Release studio for almost a year telling myself I would stop in one of these days…so glad I did! Wished I hadn’t waited so long. Release is a great place to be a part of and great people work here!

 

  • I Am Most Grateful For: My SUPER supportive husband David.

 

  • My Healthy Snack: KIND bars for something sweet. I have one in my purse and tote bag at all times.

 

  • My Heros Are: My clients!

 

  • My Wish For the World: More respect and education for animal advocacy.
 

Tiffany Luc

Tiffany originally came to her mat to help her overcome post-partum depression and anxiety - it worked, and so much more! Since then, she has found her individual identity and a deep passion to help others so she enrolled in teacher training and is now a RYT-200. Her favorite quote is "Don't take life too seriously, none of us get out alive" and strives to create a fun yet empowering environment for her students while they are on their mat so they can carry that with them when they leave.

  • My teaching style is: Fun, inspiring and empowering. I want my students to leave knowing they are enough and be proud of themselves.

  • My favorite yoga pose is: Half Moon. I always feel so open and strong in this pose!

  • Yoga has helped me overcome: My loss of self as well as depression and anxiety. Yoga has proved to me that I can still be Tiff as well as mom, wife, friend, etc. There is something so powerful about taking the time out for yourself!

  • I love my: FEET! What can I say? They carry me through life with strength but also sometimes trip me up to make sure I am paying attention!

  • My favorite Deity or god/goddess is: Ganesha! Remover of obstacles, patron of arts and sciences, what's not to love?

  • You must try this healthy snack: Apples dipped in peanut butter that has been mixed with cinnamon oil and granola

  • My favorite sanskrit word is: Ahimsa, nonviolence. I apply this to my life in so many ways. We must learn to be non-violent with others as well as ourselves. I believe this is the road we must travel to true contentment.

  • My advice for beginning yogis: Approach yoga with a light heart and an open mind. You will fall, you will step out of your comfort zone, but you will grow as yoga does it's work on you! Go with it and stay grateful in the journey!

  • I'm most grateful for: My family for their unwavering support and encouragement.

  • If I could practice yoga with anyone it would be: Bryan Kest (again!) He is such an inspiring person all around!

  • I am excited to take yoga to the next level because I am working towards completing my RYT-200 as well as discover pre-natal and post-natal yoga first hand and I cannot wait to share my knowledge!

  • My heroes are: First time yogis. You made it to your mat, and that is inspiring to me!

  • My one wish for the world is: To be kind to one another - you never know the other person's story.
 
 
 

Pattie Wagner


Pattie Wagner, E-RYT 200 and YACEP®, took yoga when she was four years old with her flower child mom. Yoga found her again when she had her second son and needed a release from a demanding career in a foreign city. Over 14 years, she has practiced a broad variety of yoga styles including Power, Bikram, Hatha, Ashtanga, Restorative, Iyengar and "crappy work yoga" and infused them all into her teaching style (minus the crappy parts, of course). She is E-RYT 200 and Reiki Level II certified and hopes to complete her RYT 500 in the near future.



  • My teaching style is: Very hands on, fun, upbeat and spiritual. I love assisting my students, so be prepared for adjustments, neck rubs and guidance.

  • My favorite yoga pose is: Padahastasana! I love the release that Gorilla pose provides.  It’s a simple forward fold that is accessible to all levels of yogis. It also calms the mind, helps with digestion and improves circulation in your hands and wrists. It’s great for people who work on computers all day long.
 
  • Yoga has helped me overcome: Wow, so much. I began practicing when my 2nd son was born to help with post-partum depression. From there, I fell in love! Anything is possible on a yoga mat.
 
  • My favorite music to practice to is: I love heavier music such as Florence & the Machine and the Black Keys for a power class. I get a lot of help from my sons who help keep my music cutting edge ... I love offering a brand new sound or unknown artist to my students, especially local CLE bands such as The Modern Electric. 
 
  • I love my: Eyes and hair. My eyes are hazel and can turn to a beautiful complex green/gold. My hair? I rarely blow it dry.
 
  • My favorite goddess is: Akhilandeshvari. She is the “The Always Broken Goddess”.  Basically, she celebrates that we are always just a little broken, a little on the edge. This allows us to try something new and unfathomable in our lives and break away from our toxic routines or attachments. And she rides on a crocodile … how cool is that?!  There is a great article about her on Elephant Journal by JC Peters. Check it out!
 
  • You must try this healthy snack: Sprouted pumpkin seeds. I love their mealy texture.
 
  • My favorite Sanskrit phrase is: "Om Namah Shivaya". Chanting this mantra is incredibly powerful … be careful what you wish for!
 
  • My advice for beginning yogis: Focus on building the very basics of your practice. Your breath is everything and will guide you both physically and spiritually. Don’t worry about how flexible or strong you are … and don’t worry about the heat, Release has plenty of options! 
 
  • I’m most grateful for: My wonderful family who supported me when I took on the major life change of starting my own yoga studio. I may be crazy, but I’m loved!
 
  • The most exotic place that I’ve practiced yoga is: Tahiti in my personal hut by the water. Wait, that hasn’t happened yet!
 
  • If I could practice yoga with anyone, it would be: Adam Levine and Bradley Cooper. Brad (he lets me call him Brad) and I would practice at the back of the room and giggle at Adam showing off.  But when Brad wasn't looking I would be completely gawking at Adam :-)
 
  • I want to take my yoga to the next level by: Assisting all of the fabulous Release teachers and students in reaching their full potential.  
 
  • My heroes are: Anita Roddick (founder of The Body Shop), Maxine Clark (founder of Build a Bear) and Oprah (founder of everything). They each built profitable businesses from the core of their passions, took immense risks, and focused on giving back to their employees and communities. And they did it with kindness, compassion, fun and profitability. That’s the way business should be!
 
  • My one wish for the world is: Be kind. Be grateful. Be forgiving.
